Gambling Money Should Be Fun Money

Gambling Money Should Be Fun Money One of my pet peeves is when people funnel online poker money from other areas of their budget into their poker fund. I am sure you have seen this happen to someone you know. Sometimes you can even hear them say things like “I guess I can spend a little less on groceries this month” or things in the same vein. Things like this make it crystal clear to anyone in listening range that this unfortunate fellow will betting money at the table that was allotted to other things. These kinds of statements make it very clear that this unfortunate person does not realize that gambling money should be fun poker money. Poker should be spare money, or fun money, that will not affect your financial bottom line in another area. The very beauty of poker is the fact that it is unpredictable. This makes it fun, but hard to budget for. If you find that you are dipping into other areas of your life, then you need to seriously reconsider your bankroll. Try going down a stake or two so that you can afford your poker habit using only extra money. If necessary, you can even switch to free rolls for a while. Whatever you do, just don’t use the household budget for the poker table.

Keep Your Chips

When you’re playing online poker, keep in mind this golden rule about life in general: What you don’t spend, you don’t have to earn.

How is that relevant to poker games? Every chip you hold onto is a chip saved from loss. It is basically the opposite of an aggressive offense and instead a defensive tactic to keep your chips in front of you. Though some players will scoff at the idea of defensive play, it is critical sometimes to save your stack.

In any poker game, you are going to be in the blinds several times an hour. You have no choice about contributing these to the pot but you can choose to fold if your blind is raised. Aggressively defending your blinds every time can add up to big chip leaks.

Avoid calling minimum bets with speculative hands. It’s easy to think, “It’s just one bet.” But unless you have lots of outs with good pot odds, those small bets add up to a big chip leak. Being able to save a bet sometimes when the pot is not worth calling is the hallmark of a smart player.

Knowing when to save your chips by defensively folding is an essential skill in poker. Everyone comes to the table eager to play, but it pays to be a tightwad with your chips during most hands and save those precious bets for when you do have a strong hand with good odds of winning.

The Heads up Slow Player

When you see a turtle avatar, a sloth, a Ford Pinto, or anything else kind of slow as someone avatar, you can almost be assured that the player is a slow poker player. Ninja’s count too, they’re just too egotistical and think they’re being sneaky when in reality they’re just slow playing as well.

In this article we’re going to delve into this player’s mind of this kind of player, and show you how to beat him.

The first thing you need to understand is that this guy is passive-aggressive. A passive player alone will not be calling your pot sized bets Heads-Up (HU). They may call a thin continuation bet, but if you get too much money involved, they usually fold like a house of cards, pun intended. The passive aggressive player, or trapster, like to call, giving off the impression of a calling station, but they become very dangerous on the turn, and deadly on the river if you’re playing standard TAG ABC poker.

See, this kind of play style is very high variance. The ones who are good at it know this; they have more “gamble” in them, and know they are risking a lot, but have a lot to get in return when they are successful. However, in the long run, it’s usually not a profitable strategy unless they can control their bankroll after a hot run and cash out. Most of them can’t, and most of them aren’t aware of the game on that kind of level anyway. The majority of trapsters out there have a distinct pattern of slowplaying every hand, even if it’s not the stone cold nuts.

So against the slow poker player, you do need to ramp up the aggression early, since they do take big risks. But you have to control the aggression, and be weary of their snap check-calls to your raises, be aware of the board, and beware the river checkraise. I know it sounds complicated at first, but once you get a feel for the player, they are easy to beat, if you just tighten up a little in HU, and focus the aggression rather than spewing it.

Once, no More!

There are a few things that happen only once in a lifetime. Can you bring back the day you first set foot inside school? How about the first time you fell in love? And how about the first time that you wore a graduation caps? Can you bring back those times? Time has a tendency, or a characteristic, if you will, of moving in only one direction. Of course, if the principles of relativistic time dilation (proposed so profoundly by the great Albert Einstein) are true, then one should be able to travel back in time given that a speed higher than the speed of light is attained. Has your scientific mind already gotten to work? Are you already in the process of figuring out the little details like the elemental composition of the rotor blades and the angular bending of the hyper-drive? If so, I implore you to come back to reality. Such things are best left to experts; you don’t want to go meddling in things that are not your business. We are ordinary people, you and I, and we must abide by the laws of current technology. Jetpacks and hyper-drives are best left to the imagination of the likes of Isaac Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke. The best we can do is accept the way things are and try to make the best of it.
Sure, we can’t revert the flow of time. It must always flow in the direction of its choosing (imagine an alternate universe where time always flows backwards! Oh, the possibilities!), but that doesn’t mean that we can’t enjoy things while they last! You won’t get to wear that high school graduation gown again, so you might as well have a blast while you can! A high school graduation is different from, say, a preschool graduation because you are mature enough as a person to realize the importance of it. When you were made to wear that preschool graduation gowns, you had no real idea about things. The only thing that mattered back then was play time. The only worries were limited to the breaking and acquiring of new toys. But when you are in high school, wearing that graduation hat, your understanding of life is a little stronger than before. A high school graduation cap and gown signifies to the world that you are ready to join the ranks of the likes of your father, mother, uncles and aunts. It tells the world that you are ready to pursue your destiny (whatever that might be). The day is yours, so go and enjoy it! You will look back at the whole thing someday down the line and smile. That, I suppose, should be reward enough, and compensate for the lack of time travel.
Maybe they will invent time travel in the future so we can live moments again and again till we grow so bored that we move on of our own accord. Until then, it is advisable to live each moment fully!

Look for Low Buy Ins at Ladies Events

There are few things in the poker world more intimidating to new players than a high buy in. However, it can be very hard to get the level of experience that you need to really do well if you do not practice in a tournament setting. Given this situation, it would seem logical to seek out the lowest possible buy ins at a poker tournament to get you’re the experience you need at a price you can afford. When it comes to most tournaments, the lowest buy in that you will find is at the ladies event. Choose wisely and save money with a ladies event. Ladies events often have the lowest buy ins because of their limited popularity. Many women are hesitant to join these events on the assumption that they will be seen first as a woman and only second as a poker online player. Because of the low entrant numbers, ladies events use a low buy in to attract potential players. This also means that they have a lower overall skill level that is better suited for beginner players, allowing you to get the experience you need. If you start with the low buy in a of a ladies event, you will have more money to use down the line.

Hand Analysis: 3-Five

In my local home poker game the 3 5 offsuit is fondly known as ‘Magic,’ for the way it sees to have so many times crushed huge poker online hands in large pots. One of my best poker buddies became renowned for playing this hand and making straights as regularly as you could ever ask, against aces, against kings, and each time getting paid well much to the fury of his opponent. Making a pet of a online poker hand like 3 5 seems reckless when you actually see it getting shown down for a lot of money, but in a general perspective it is fairly conservative if you play it correctly. When you miss with 3 5 you rarely find ways to get stuck, and making a straight (as seems to always happen where we deal) can pay you greatly. The other benefit of becoming known for a strange hand as such is that people will begin to fear you have it when you don’t, if the board reads that it would be a monster. Milking that apparition can lead to big laydowns from your opponent when you represent a hand only you could have. As long as you aren’t investing too much in one spot against the odds, 3 5 isn’t as bad as it looks.

Thai Lanterns Released

Thai Lanterns are traditionally called Khoom Fay, with a bamboo frame extended by thin tissue paper. A burning cell attached to the lantern provides hot airThe gracefully ascend, and create a wonderful spectacle, especially when released at constant time intervals to form a string of lighters rising into the sky. They are every bit great by daylight or by night. Night releases seem more suited to the classical white lanterns whilst Colour imparts itself nicely to Thai Lanterns liberated in the day but that is just my own individual opinion.Without tearing the paper carefully unpack the Lantern. Ensure the lantern is fully extended, and not creased or hanging sidewise. Holding the peak of the lantern is the advisable style to do this, mildly raising it a couple of ft, then dropping it sharp. Air force will inflate the unit.Hold the lantern upright, and have a assistant light the wick. The Lantern will being to feel lighter, then rise bit by bit. Do not effort to throw it up into the air - just lead it and let it go by itself. Now relax and enjoy the showExperienced fireworks operators are whom these lanterns are intended for. Wear mitts and fire-proof wear, and have a pail of H2O accessible.

Straight Flush Defined

A straight flush is the highest poker hand that can be made. It beats all other forms of poker hands including 4 of a kind, full house, and so on.

A straight flush contains five cards in a sequential order of the same suit, such as 5-6-7-8-9 of clubs. The value of a straight flush against another straight flush is determined by which hand has the higher relative end card. Two straight flushes of the same value would end in a tie, as suit does not have value rank in poker online.

The highest possible straight flush is known as the royal straight flush, and contains the cards 10 J Q K A of a suit.

The lowest possible straight flush is known as a steel wheel, and contains 5 4 3 2 A of the same suit.

The probability of being dealt a straight flush is highly unlikely, ranking in at 0.00154%. When you do finally make one, it can feel like driving an expensive car very fast, as there is often almost no one way you can lose (though again it is possible against a better straight flush).

A player in texas hold em high might make a straight flush using one or both of their hole cards, and sometimes the straight flush might appear on the board, resulting in a chop pot. Remember this when you play poker online.
