Sometimes I ignore my emotions, ’cause without a date, I get pretty lonely. Get this, this morning I broke my resolution and smoked two packs of cigarettes. During my birthday party while being single, no less. Yeah, I did it. Is that even legal? Well, it’s when I seriously thought about finding a date in North Dallas.
Easy solution. I’ll meet new singles at a matchmaking service like Great Expectations Dallas. That isn’t a bad idea. Why do I bring it up? When I was a little tipsy at Julie’s soccer finals in Dallas this afternoon, Richard wanted to know if I have yet to win a special lady. They sure have nerve. So, I said, “I’m working on it, chill out.”
There’s nowhere to hide when “The Twerp” (my nephew, age 9) doesn’t know when to quit driving home on the topic of marriage. I said to each of them: “I’ll be fine, you would bring that up.”
Guess what? Everyone looked away and giggled. Quite promptly, I fell asleep that night just to get some perspective. But I couldn’t get it out of my head! I can’t imagine what I was thinking there. Billy, who wrote to me from Egypt, offered his opinion that I browse the singles profiles at Great Expectations. I said, “Yeah, maybe I should.” See, everything always works out. I especially enjoy the singles at Great Expectations Dallas.
At the time, singles events and mixers were a novel thing to me. This was all really foreign to me, that my hands started sweating. This slip up did not put an end to the evening. The night was full of crazy-fun mingling. The truth is I’ll never forget all the other members, some who are my new friends.
Afterwards, I realized why so many people show up to these incredibley satisfying Dallas singles nights with Great Expectations, I ran into quite a few winners who certainly feel the same way I do for how dating should be done. Can’t imagine why I used to let anyone give their two cents about me not dating. Wonderfully enough, dating with Great Expectations is my pleasure and like a dream come true.
