Get Some Hands on Eye-Openers Apropos Sydney Botox Here…
Botulinum therapy (shortened to BoTox) is fast becoming a must amongst Sydney’s fashionable crowd and has become a beauty routine necessity for many in Sydney. But I never fail to be stunned when I listen to the variety of half truths that have developed in connection with the treatment. Here I have listed some of the more myths which we encounter daily in Star Cosmetic Medicine, where I work as a physician.
Fallacy # 1: I may not be able to use my facial muscles normally!
Research has found there are 60 or so muscles beneath the skin of your face. These muscles normally work in harmony, however over a period of time lines can form. When surplus BoTox is used the musculature which are responsible for the expression of emotions can sometimes become too relaxed. More often than not doctors use relatively small quantities to make you appear ‘refreshed’, but still you will always keep your facial expression.
Therefore a carefully measured dosage of BoTox in the right site means you will get a softening of the wrinkles without compromising facial expression.
Fallacy # 2: BoTox is a poisonous substance!
Actually there is some truth in this. Its scientific name is Botulinum Toxin Type A. Too great a dose can relax facial muscles that you do not want loosened or may make you extremely sick.
However to help us understand the reality of the situation: an old pharmacy saying states that ‘everything is a poison - it all depends on the dose’. Any medicine might make you very sick in large quantities. Water can be a poison if too much is taken.

Fallacy # 3: It will sting!
The hypodermic needles we use at Star Cosmetic Medicine have a diameter smaller than a human hair. Some people have likened the injections to bug bites. It unquestionably is not as traumatic as something like a vaccination.
Fallacy # 4: My face will not be as sensitive!
Totally untrue. BoTox affects the junction between the nerve and the facial muscle, and not on sensate nerve fibers. BoTox just impacts on the relaxation of muscular tissues.
Fallacy # 5. You can’t stop having BoTox or you will wrinkle quicker than before!
Once More this is simply false.
The first BoTox treatment lasts approximately three months. Further treatments do last a few weeks more. The wrinkles will slowly reappear as the muscle regains its strength. Even So your lines definitely will not be any worse than when you began your BoTox therapy.
Even if you do not have BoTox treatments again - those lines will most likely be a little better than if you had not been treated. This, of course is obviously because you have given your skin a ‘wrinkle holiday’ for a few months.
